I'm sorry.. who are you?

01 November 2014

Oh hey. My name is Leanda.
Don't worry it's only been four months since my last blog post.
I'm not even going to try to do the whole summary of my life so far because let's be real that's kind of ridiculous. But I guess I can kind of do it with pictures right?

Okay, yeah I'm going to do it with pictures.

I went to the beach with friends right before Alice and I went house hunting in Leeds!

FSY. What an incredible experience! FSY is a youth program for youth aged 14-18 in my church, and this year I got to be a counsellor! It was such a fantastic week with so many fun memories and new friends made. I cannot even explain how much fun we had and all the amazing bonds that were made. The best part of the whole thing is that we all had an opportunity to grow closer to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and it was seriously a life changing experience. It made me so grateful for the gospel in my life!

I moved to Leeds!!!! Here is a picture of my little home office (it's slightly more hectic now). I started medical school on the 22nd of September, and that'll be part of the reason this bloggy has become so neglected. But I am LOVING it. I just feel so blessed that everything that I have worked for academically has culminated and come together to this point. Umm... medical school is hard. Like, really hard. But it'll be totally worth it. And I only have 1702 days until I'm done!

Varsity Rugby match with friends. Seriously #lovinglifeinleeds

My gorgeous Charlotte got married!! It could not have been a more beautiful wedding for more beautiful people. It honestly just makes me so happy being around them and being a part of the love that they have for one another. What a great example and what great friends!! It was a gorgeous day.

Alice and I were party animals for Halloween.

Well that brings us pretty much up to.. today! Not bad if I do say so myself!

Hopefully I'll be better at documenting and recording important events over the next few weeks, but I can't make any promises. (I'm talking to myself as much as all "you" people on the interwebs).

In more important news- IT'S DEFINITELY CHRISTMAS NOW!
Surely that's the best thing you've heard all day.

I cannot wait to get into the festivities and welcome my favourite time of year!

My Fourth

05 July 2014

For the first time in my life, I celebrated the fourth of July in England! I'm not going to lie- it's definitely not the same as celebrating surrounded by patriotic Americans who are so proud of their awesome country!

But we made do :)

My day started off with a little baking and some Mary Poppins. Is there anything better?

My day of heavy baking came to an end, and I prepared to go to a fourth of July party held by some friends! It was hosted by the beautiful Madeline Hales, who was lovely enough to lend us her hair studio space.
When I went I literally felt as though I had walked into a magazine! The room was FULL of natural light, vintage decor and HUGE mirrors that were amazing.

McKay Felt and the latest issue of Vogue.

Then it happened.
Of all the recent social gatherings I have been to, none can boast to have had the presence of a street-performer. Not only as a guest as I had thought, but a street performer came to PERFORM.
I felt like a five year old at a birthday party and was the happiest girl ever in that particular moment.

^^ HE'S ON AN EIGHT FOOT UNICYCLE WHILST JUGGLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM.

Then we had sparklers and as you can tell from McKay's face, it was a really happy time for all of us.

Piú di Italia

27 June 2014

Here are some more pictures from my amazing trip!!

I'm sure you care.

You know me and my doors. Italy really knows how to make them! They are magnificent!!

I literally spent 20 euros in this place. It was too good. Too. Good.

THE ACTUAL VENUS!!

All in all. It was such a fabulous trip and I am so unbelievably grateful for Arinola being in my life! What a selfless person! I can't even explain what a dream come true this was for me.

Sono Andato a Italia

23 June 2014

If you know much about me, there’s a chance you’ll know that I have a HUGE love for travel and cultures all over the world. On the top of my list of places to visit was the beautiful country of Italy. As a gift for my birthday, Arinola made that dream come true!

On the 20th of June, we flew out from London Stansted Airport and arrived in Pisa.

Yes.

As in the Leaning Tower.

And that was only the beginning of the amazing things we saw!!

First of all this had to be one of the prettiest airports I have ever seen in my life! Complete with a live jazz band to serenade you as you wait around for big fancy tour buses.

We did one of the classic open top tour buses like the proper tourists that we were, and it was so good to see such a great view of the city, as well as a direct ride to the main attractions!

Directly opposite the Leaning tower, stood a GORGEOUS orange building that epitomized the Mediterranean feel that I love so much! So, as many people were trying out their best classic tower pictures, we did in impromptu shoot by this really nice door.

We then took a coach that took us to the main destination- FLORENCE!!

It's like in While You Were Sleeping, when all Sandra Bullock's character wants is a stamp in her passport that says Florence. THAT WAS ME!! It was literally such a dream come true! So our first stop was to get some gelati from a nice dreadlocked Italian man, then we headed off for some dinner and a teeny bit of exploration.

Thus ended our first day!!! Oh my goodness I'm still buzzing just thinking about how great it all was and how blessed I am to have such a wonderful friend!
